Production #4: Outdoor Dye Lab

Tub of Synthetic Indigo: Made of Hydros, Calcium Oxide, Lime, Etc. Synthetic Indigo is used in production of most products, unless "real" indigo is specifically ordered. Replacing synthetic indigo with real indigo adds about 50% more to the cost of any bedsheet.

This tub is making black dye. It starts with a combination of jageri, molasses, & gram / chickpea flour -- all put in a drum. Then, after 12 days of fermenting this vegetable dye combination,
rusted iron is added to the concoction:

Yum!

Then, it is boiled with tamarind seed powder, which is found in the drum above.
